Software Engineer II - Platform Engineer/Databricks

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a managed AWS Databricks platform to solve complex cloud data challenges.
• Execute software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting to build innovative Data Lake tools.
• Perform platform design, workspace administration, resource monitoring, and configuration.
• Provide engineering and operational support for the platform to SRE, Data Science, and application teams.
• Proactively identify patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.

Requirements

• 2+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in software engineering concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java with experience in automated unit testing.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure provisioning using automated tools.
• Experience with version control (GitHub/Bitbucket) and build tools like Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Big Data distributed compute frameworks such as Spark and Terraform.
• Experience developing and debugging code within a large corporate environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark Data Pipeline development.
• Experience with Terraform Enterprise Infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of platform administration, monitoring, and resiliency.
