Software Engineer - II

Responsibilities

• Understand the functionality and specifications of Microchip Ethernet switch and Phy products and their applications.
• Develop device drivers and tools for Ethernet Phy and Ethernet switches.
• Create technical documentation, including user guides and configuration guides.
• Assist customers with system-level design and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Marketing to identify industry trends and create demos for trade shows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in programming with C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with Linux Device drivers, BSP, RTOS, and QNX.
• Ability to understand board-level schematics, perform board bring-up, and debug hardware issues.
• Comfort working with PC hardware and FPGA setups for testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Ethernet Phy and Switches.
• Knowledge of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards and generalized Precision Time Protocol (gPTP).
