Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance, secure, and well-documented UI and APIs
• Develop database schemas and manage SQL, NoSQL, and Vector DB systems
• Implement front-end and backend services with a focus on reliability
• Diagnose and optimize system bottlenecks and large-scale workloads
• Leverage AWS, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices for production-grade deployment
• Collaborate with ML researchers and scientists to integrate data pipelines

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 2-5 years of engineering experience in production environments
• Strong backend development expertise
• Full stack experience with React, TypeScript, Tailwind, FastAPI, SQL/NoSQL, Python, and Pydantic
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with scientists and data engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to laboratory software for life sciences or material sciences
• Experience with laboratory devices, robotics, or hardware drivers
• Experience with orchestration platforms like Airflow, Prefect, Temporal, or Dagster
• Proficiency with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions
