Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Build highly available, secure, distributed systems within a microservice architecture
• Design, develop, test, and maintain systems representing complex logistics entities like cargo, carriers, and containers
• Create cutting-edge infrastructure solutions to improve the development experience across the company
• Collaborate with product managers and business partners to translate complex problems into elegant technical solutions
• Ship products rapidly and incrementally, maintaining a high-quality bar through metrics and post-mortem analysis

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong engineering background
• 2+ years of experience with design and architecture knowledge
• Proficiency in at least one language: TypeScript, Ruby, C, C++, Java, or Kotlin
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD) patterns
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale, high-performance systems in multi-tiered, distributed environments
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CDKTF, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of performance tradeoffs, load balancing, and operational troubleshooting
• A bias for action and a love for writing simple, well-tested, and extensible code
