Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of an analytic decisioning platform focused on high-volume, low-latency workflow execution
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define business requirements and drive platform architecture
• Create software engineering standards, guidance, and processes within working groups
• Continuously improve engineering practices to support efficiency, reliability, and serviceability
• Research and prototype new technologies to ensure the platform remains a market leader
• Coach and mentor other software engineers on domain design and technical best practices
• Partner with QA engineers to design and implement non-functional tests

Requirements

• 4+ years of overall software engineering experience
• Expertise in building sophisticated software using Java and Spring Boot
• Experience designing and operating composable platforms with low-latency execution (low milliseconds)
• Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven, and domain-driven architectures
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google, or Azure) and the Kubernetes ecosystem
• Proficiency with the Java ecosystem, including Maven, Gradle, JUnit, Mockito, and Test Containers
• Experience communicating complex software designs and working within agile processes
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BPMN and Flowable engine
• Experience integrating UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
• Experience operating critical runtime components using observability for root cause diagnosis
