Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Develop data applications on GCP and architect enterprise-wide solutions for handling large data volumes
• Create and manage data pipelines using Google Cloud Composer or Apache Airflow
• Interface cloud services with Airflow and REST APIs
• Analyze day-to-day loads and issues, taking necessary actions during escalations or incidents
• Work closely with admin and architect teams to ensure policy compliance and focused incident response
• Document and simulate complex job and data flows to research and solve technical problems

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field
• 3-4 years of experience working with GCP services
• 2-5 years of total experience in the IT industry
• Proficiency in writing and handling complex SQL queries
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage
• Experience working within Agile development processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Snowflake
• Knowledge of Docker, QUAY, or Shell scripting
• Familiarity with technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, HBase, Sqoop, or Scala
• Understanding of file formats including Avro, Parquet, and JSON
