Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric.
• Build and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and transformations for large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Develop and manage data pipelines, semantic models, and data products using Microsoft Data Fabric components including Lakehouse, Dataflows, Warehouses, and Pipelines.
• Analyze healthcare data such as claims, eligibility, provider, clinical, and pharmacy data to support reporting and business insights.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate healthcare requirements into technical data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and adherence to healthcare data standards and regulations (HIPAA, PHI/PII).
• Perform root-cause analysis for data issues and implement robust, scalable fixes.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and best practices for data engineering.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Data Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Warehouses).
• Expert-level SQL skills for data analysis, transformation, and validation.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT patterns.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets in cloud data platforms.
