Software Engineer II, Android

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performing Android solutions for Toast POS hardware
• Ship features end-to-end, from design and rollout through monitoring and iteration
• Build polished UX using modern Android development best practices
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering partners
• Help raise the bar for Android engineering across Toast

Requirements

• Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development
• Experience shipping production Android apps
• Solid knowledge of modern Android tooling and frameworks
• Experience working with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• Strong software development fundamentals, including code quality and unit testing
• Comfortable working in an agile, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in AI-assisted development and LLM-based tools
• Experience working across the stack when needed
• Passion for building products that improve real customer experiences
