Software Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Assist in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real-time application software and tools
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems
• Work on technical problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain software configuration management
• Contribute to the development of new work products or the enhancement of existing applications and systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• Software development, test, or integration experience using C, C++, Python, Ada, or similar languages
• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum, SAFe, or DevSecOps
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration/continuous development environments
• Proficiency with tools such as the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), Jenkins, Eclipse, or Ansible
• Knowledge of Red Hat and Linux Operating Systems
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles
• Experience with Kafka, Spring Boot, or JUnit
