Software Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex, scalable software solutions and web-based user interfaces
• Work closely with engineers and analysts to brainstorm and implement creative solutions for customer needs
• Lead the technical direction of projects to ensure alignment with customer requirements and mission goals
• Mentor junior team members on best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving approaches
• Collaborate with team members to test and refine code, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative approaches and refine technical designs

Requirements

• Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• 3+ years of software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable back-end services and APIs
• Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Experience with Angular for web application development
• Experience with relational database development using PostgreSQL
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in containerized application development using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with asynchronous messaging frameworks such as Kafka
• Experience with source control systems like Git or Bitbucket
• Familiarity with Agile development principles and practices (SAFe, JIRA)
• Experience supporting Navy programs, NAVWAR, NIWC Pacific, or NIWC Atlantic
• Master of Science in Software Engineering or Computer Science
