Software Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in a microservice architecture
• Design, develop, test and maintain systems representing logistics entities like cargo, documents, and carriers
• Collaborate with engineers, business partners, and product managers to solve complex technical problems
• Build and launch products rapidly and incrementally in a high-frequency deployment environment
• Maintain high-quality standards by monitoring metrics and applying learnings from post-mortems

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of design and architecture knowledge
• Familiarity with object-oriented analysis and design patterns (OOA/OOD)
• Proficiency in at least one language: Ruby, C, C++, Java, or Kotlin
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale, high-performance distributed systems
• Understanding of performance tradeoffs, load balancing, and operational issues
• Knowledge of full software development life cycle best practices
• Ability to convey technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
