Software Engineer - HPC Linux

Responsibilities

• Support HPC users and technical staff in a research and development environment
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based software used in HPC environments
• Partner with technical user support, scientists, and customers to resolve technical problems
• Contribute across the software lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, and testing
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and lead code reviews
• Create training materials, tutorials, and onboarding content for users and staff

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5 years of experience with modeling and simulation software in multi-platform environments
• Proficiency in Fortran, C, and/or C++
• Proficiency with Bash and Korn shell scripting
• Strong Linux troubleshooting experience in a lab environment
• Experience with coding standards, unit testing, and configuration management
• Experience with scalable distributed applications in Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on-site with R&D customers in mission-focused environments
• Experience supporting technical user communities in HPC or scientific computing settings
• Background balancing software engineering, end-user support, and technical training
