About the role
About the Company
Exa is an applied AI lab building a search engine unlike the world has ever seen. We build massive-scale infra to crawl the entire web, train state-of-the-art embedding models to process it, and design super high performant vector databases to retrieve over it. We now power search for Cursor, Cognition, HubSpot, and over 400,000 developers.
Responsibilities
- Build agentic onboarding flows to get developers from sign-up to first integration
- Shape the Exa API and SDKs into an ergonomic agentic search platform
- Architect the API gateway for all Exa requests
- Build account, billing, permissions, and provisioning surfaces for enterprise customers
Requirements
- Strong generalist engineer comfortable owning the product lifecycle from design to deploy
- Fluency in TypeScript with a strong eye for front-end design
- Experience designing and maintaining backend APIs for real users
- Experience shipping products for LLMs, AI agents, or similar high-scale systems
