Software Engineer, Elixir

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Telnyx’s engineering teams to support global connectivity
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large scale
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, preferably with a functional programming language like Elixir or Erlang
• Experience working with relational databases at scale
• Deep knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns
• Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Strong understanding of the challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed programming
• Experience with exotic databases or key-value stores (e.g., ETS, Mnesia, Cassandra, Redis)
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Jenkins, or Prometheus
