Software Engineer, Elixir (Mobile Core)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across the Telnyx Wireless stack
• Debug production issues across multiple levels of the stack and services
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues across global roaming partners
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new features
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and internal processes

Requirements

• Strong experience in Go, Elixir, or Erlang
• Familiarity with 3GPP specifications and mobile core protocols (e.g., AMF, UPF, SMF or equivalent 4G/5G elements)
• Experience with IoT platforms and mobile network systems/protocols
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Practical skills in automated testing and a passion for system robustness
• Strong sense of ownership and innate curiosity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IoT/M2M solution design and implementation
• Familiarity with multi-vendor IPX connectivity
• Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL or key-value stores like ETS
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Jenkins, or Prometheus
• C++ experience in a telecoms context
