About the role
Responsibilities
- Build features for game developers across the Discord app, developer portal, APIs, realtime infrastructure, and Social SDK
- Collaborate with engineers to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code
- Own projects end-to-end from initial design through post-launch
- Work with game developer partners to understand needs and improve tools
- Partner with product managers, designers, and partner managers to navigate ambiguity
- Maintain high software quality through attention to detail
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience with game development
- Proficiency in one or more: Python, Elixir, Rust, TypeScript, React, or C++
- Ability to pick up new languages and systems quickly
- Strong product and design sense
- Growth mindset and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Active use of AI coding tools to accelerate productivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mobile development
- Experience with Unreal or Unity game engines
