Software Engineer, Design Systems

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of the design system, including token architecture, components, tooling, and testing
• Shape how AI coding agents build UI through component APIs, documentation, and guardrails
• Modernize frontend foundations, component architecture, and development patterns
• Raise the bar for frontend quality, performance, accessibility, and responsiveness
• Build infrastructure for system reliability, including visual regression, CI/CD, and versioned releases
• Establish frontend best practices and influence product decisions during the design process

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building frontend products with architectural ownership
• Experience owning or evolving a design system used across multiple teams
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, component architecture, and modern frontend tooling
• Proven track record of improving performance, accessibility, and usability
• Strong product and design instincts with a focus on user experience
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Interest in AI-assisted development workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React, Storybook, and data visualization libraries (visx, D3, or Chart.js)
• Experience building B2B SaaS or highly interactive, data-rich applications
