Software Engineer, Data Platform

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of data governance frameworks to improve ownership, access, and accountability.
• Manage role-based access control (RBAC) in Snowflake, ensuring adherence to least-privilege principles.
• Develop and optimize data models and transformations in Snowflake using dbt.
• Build tooling and abstractions to help teams produce and consume high-quality data.
• Maintain data lineage, metadata tracking, and comprehensive documentation.
• Support audit readiness by maintaining access logs and participating in periodic reviews.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, and Legal teams to incorporate governance into data pipelines.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, or related roles.
• Working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with modern data warehouses like Snowflake.
• Understanding of RBAC, access controls, and data security best practices.
• Familiarity with modern data orchestration and transformation tools such as dbt or Airflow.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) for managing platform resources.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
