Software Engineer, Data Platform

About the Company

Rebar is building the AI operating system for commercial HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing. We recently raised a $14M Series A and are building a set of AI native products that will define how the construction industry operates.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect real time data ingestion for ML jobs processing construction documents
• Consolidate and cleanse existing data architecture to create clean data schemas
• Set up the data platform for agentic layers to provide context to the Rebar Agent
• Build the backbone of the data platform to improve developer velocity and data accessibility

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience
• Experience with data intensive systems in production
• Experience handling complex data migrations for active clients
• Knowledge of various databases and indexes, preferably Postgres or Aurora
• Ability to justify data architecture tradeoffs

Preferred Qualifications

• Event-driven or streaming pipeline experience
• Analytics modeling including materialized views, rollups, or columnar/OLAP engines
• Experience with workflow orchestration (Temporal)
• Experience working in small, high-ownership engineering teams
