Software Engineer - Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and expansion of the data platform across various data sources, supporting streaming, operational, and research workflows.
• Build and deploy batch and streaming pipelines within a hybrid cloud architecture using Kubernetes/EKS, Kafka/MSK, and Databricks/Spark.
• Collaborate with Trading, Quant, and Business Operations teams to identify data needs and deliver high-impact projects.
• Develop automated data validation test suites to ensure data quality, availability, and correctness in accordance with SLAs.
• Produce clean, well-tested, and documented code to support mission-critical applications.
• Mentor junior engineers in software and data engineering best practices.

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala (Python experience is a significant plus).
• Hands-on experience with data technologies such as Delta Lake, Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, ClickHouse, or Presto/Trino.
• Recent experience with AWS Cloud development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience working in an Agile environment using GitOps and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
