Responsibilities

• Build core agent behavior and capabilities that power agent experiences across Cursor products
• Develop agent orchestration, tools, guardrails, and model behavior tuning
• Define the default Cursor agent experience ("Auto") by making smart model choices based on user needs and cost
• Advance the agent harness, including agent loops, prompts, and execution environments
• Shape the default Cursor agent's personality
• Launch new models on Cursor end-to-end by partnering with model providers and research teams

Requirements

• Experience building complex agentic products or infrastructure
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience shipping production systems
• Deep understanding of emerging research and industry trends in AI and agents
• Ability to make product decisions in ambiguous environments by weighing data and user experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building evaluation datasets or frameworks for AI systems
• Experience building products or tools used by other engineers
