Software Engineer, Computer Vision - Video AI

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and troubleshoot real-time communication systems related to video/audio codecs, cameras, and displays
• Design AI/ML-based compression algorithms to reduce compute footprint while improving end-user experience
• Optimize video codec efficiency, including encode rate control, processing speed, and error resilience
• Debug and diagnose end-to-end video quality on lossy networks in real-time scenarios
• Lead the definition and implementation of media processing pipelines
• Define the video optimization roadmap for diverse network and device capabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field
• 5+ years of software development experience in industry settings (or PhD with 2+ years of experience)
• 3+ years of experience in computer vision, video/image codecs, or video/image processing
• Experience in neural video/image compression and AI research
• Proficiency in C/C++ multithreaded programming
• Experience leading large or complex projects and delivering milestones through team leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leveraging AI-based enhancement tools to complement standard video codecs (e.g., AV1)
• Knowledge of the multimedia stack, including containers, codecs, and AV synchronization
• Experience developing algorithms to improve video quality for calling and video conferencing
• Proficiency with state-of-the-art video codecs such as H.264/AVC, HEVC, or AV1
• Experience designing power-efficient software for mobile or embedded systems
• Industry experience in Video-on-Demand (VOD) or Real-Time Communication (RTC) at scale
