Software Engineer, Codex Cloud

Responsibilities

• Shape the evolution of Codex by identifying how teams use AI-powered software engineering and driving changes across product, infrastructure, and model behavior.
• Design end-to-end software engineering experiences to automate and empower engineers to safely build and deliver software.
• Build core enterprise primitives including container orchestration, virtual machine provisioning, execution sandboxes, and RBAC.
• Design and own secure, observable, full-stack systems that power Codex across web, IDEs, CLI, and CI/CD.
• Integrate with enterprise identity and governance systems such as SSO, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM.
• Lead real-world deployments by working directly with customers to turn feedback into scalable product and platform improvements.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-grade, large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with container orchestration and virtualization systems (e.g., Kubernetes, OCI).
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Go, or Rust.
• Experience with identity and access management (SAML/OIDC, RBAC, SCIM) and data governance.
• Experience building developer tools and workflows (CLI, IDE, SDK) or automation systems.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in 0 -> 1 environments and translate complex requirements into scalable implementations.
