Software Engineer, Clinical Data

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services in TypeScript/Node.js for EHR integrations and clinical workflows
• Architect integration services leveraging HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHR-specific APIs
• Deploy and operate microservices in AWS using Kubernetes or ECS
• Implement rigorous data validation and HIPAA-compliant security measures
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical decision-making
• Partner with product managers and EHR specialists to translate clinical workflows into software solutions

Requirements

• Prior experience in a healthcare startup or health data integration platform
• Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, patient identity management, or clinical data modeling
• 3+ years of professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems
• Experience designing and building RESTful or event-driven APIs
• Experience scaling microservices using AWS or Kubernetes
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues across distributed services

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing secure OAuth2.0/SMART on FHIR authentication flows
