About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance software in C++ for Axion, the defense tooling and data platform
- Build and extend simulation environments and virtual worlds for autonomous system validation
- Develop scalable infrastructure supporting multi-domain autonomous operations
- Partner with autonomy researchers, product teams, and defense customers to translate requirements into software solutions
- Own end-to-end execution of engineering workstreams from architecture through deployment
- Interface with DoD programs to ensure solutions meet operational demands
Requirements
- Professional software engineering experience with strong C++ skills
- Experience with Unreal Engine or other real-time simulation/game engines (e.g., Unity, Gazebo)
- Solid fundamentals in systems programming, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Proficiency in Python for tooling and scripting
- Strong CS/CE/EE foundation
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must hold or be eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work in simulation for autonomy, robotics, gaming, or defense
- Familiarity with sensor simulation or synthetic data generation
- Experience with distributed systems or real-time data pipelines
