Software Engineer, Backend Intern

Responsibilities

• Build highly scalable, distributed real-time micro-services primarily written in Go
• Work with large data sets and various databases including Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Redis, ScyllaDB, and Redshift
• Develop software that utilizes messaging queues such as Kafka, SQS, and Kinesis
• Write performance-efficient and memory-optimized code
• Contribute to technical planning, architectural decision-making, and code reviews
• Collaborate with team members, product managers, and designers to design complex, well-tested backend software

Requirements

• Experience building scalable micro-services in Go
• Ability to work with large data sets
• Experience utilizing messaging queues like Kafka
• Proficiency in writing performance-efficient code
• Experience with SQL-based databases and writing complex queries

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with a designated mentor for technical and career growth
• Ability to take full ownership of projects and deliver extensible, test-driven software
