Software Engineer - Back End

Edra is a Series A startup backed by Sequoia that builds AI agents designed to learn and execute specific company processes. We are a deeply technical team of engineers and AI researchers focused on making AI useful in the real world through robust platform engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and build platform systems in Python (Fast API), including API contracts, database schemas, and infrastructure
• Build and maintain connectors, integrations, and data pipelines for external systems
• Develop internal libraries, tooling, and interfaces to improve engineering productivity
• Own tasks end-to-end, from gathering context to driving completion without heavy PM oversight
• Collaborate with a high-caliber team of engineers and AI specialists to shape technical direction

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• High proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript with a focus on strong typing and documentation
• Experience building libraries, SDKs, or internal developer tooling
• Strong skills in database schema design and data modeling
• Ability to work through ambiguity and own problems from conception to production
• Interest in greenfield development and building foundational systems from scratch
