Responsibilities

• Build and maintain MCP servers that give agents structured access to Mercor’s platform
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks to measure agent decision quality
• Develop action queues and playbook orchestration systems for multi-step workflows
• Instrument agent systems end-to-end to capture outcomes and enable feedback loops
• Collaborate with operators to identify automation opportunities and translate them into agent behaviors
• Debug and harden agent systems in production for reliability at scale
• Contribute to foundational patterns and infrastructure

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals in Python or equivalent modern language
• Experience building with LLM APIs, including tool use and structured outputs
• Experience designing evaluation frameworks and reasoning about agent failure modes
• Ability to ship quickly and iterate on real-world systems
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and production infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Full-stack experience for end-to-end feature ownership
