About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance C++ software for Axion, our flagship defense data and tooling platform
- Build and extend simulation environments and virtual worlds to enable autonomous system testing and validation
- Develop scalable infrastructure supporting multi-domain autonomous operations, including unmanned ground and aerial platforms
- Partner with autonomy researchers, product teams, and defense customers to translate mission requirements into robust software
- Own end-to-end engineering workstreams from initial architecture through to deployment
- Interface with DoD programs and defense customers to ensure solutions meet real-world operational demands
Requirements
- Professional software engineering experience with strong C++ proficiency
- Experience with Unreal Engine or other real-time simulation/game engine environments (e.g., Unity, Gazebo)
- Solid understanding of systems programming, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Proficiency in Python for tooling, scripting, and integration work
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must hold or be eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work in simulation for autonomy, robotics, gaming, or defense applications
- Familiarity with sensor simulation, synthetic data generation, or physics-based environments
- Experience with distributed systems or real-time data pipelines in constrained environments
