Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize real-time onboard software modules including perception, sensor fusion, path planning, and vehicle control
• Maintain middleware connecting sensor hardware like lidar, radar, and cameras to autonomy algorithms
• Optimize latency and throughput across the onboard compute stack for deterministic behavior
• Implement ASIL-relevant architecture patterns including fault detection and recovery mechanisms
• Build diagnostics, logging, and observability tooling for post-drive analysis
• Write unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with autonomy teams to productionize research algorithms into efficient C++ deployments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Exceptional proficiency in modern C++
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Knowledge of data serialization formats such as Protobuf or JSON

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics middleware like ROS or DDS
• Background in AV perception, prediction, or planning systems
• Familiarity with vehicle data buses like CAN or Ethernet
• Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment
