Software Engineer, AI & Internal Tools

About the Company

David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal tools that replace manual processes across Finance, Operations, Growth, Retail, and Supply Chain
• Write production-quality code in Python and/or TypeScript
• Design and deploy AI-powered workflows for document parsing, data extraction, classification, summarization, and decision support
• Build and orchestrate AI agents using LLM APIs, agent frameworks, MCP connectors, and RAG
• Implement evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop patterns to ensure reliability
• Co-own data pipelines and dbt models that move data into BigQuery
• Automate and maintain reporting, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in software engineering or data engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript
• Production experience with full-stack web frameworks (Next.js/React preferred) and relational databases (Postgres preferred)
• Fluency with modern AI tooling including LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG, and MCP
• Track record of building tools or automations used in professional or open-source settings
• Ability to operate independently and communicate priorities clearly
