Software Engineer - AI Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design and ship shared AI infrastructure, frameworks, and tooling to power capabilities across all Applied products.
• Partner with product teams to identify high-leverage AI use cases and move them from concept to production.
• Serve as a company-wide GenAI/LLM expert, owning best practices for architecture, safety, evaluation, and deployment.
• Design and build agentic systems, including background coding agents and AI SRE tooling.
• Work directly with customers to understand needs, demo capabilities, and shape the product roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 2+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML-powered features and products.
• Hands-on proficiency with LLMs and agentic architectures.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with a bias toward shipping production-quality code quickly.
• Comfort working across the full stack, from backend infrastructure and APIs to frontend work.
• Ability to take initiative and context-switch in a fast-paced, high-priority environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical ML literacy, including understanding model evaluation, data pipelines, and technical tradeoffs.
• Background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or internal productivity infrastructure.
• Experience working with autonomous vehicle systems or simulation software.
