Software Engineer - AI Augmented Development

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of development tasks end-to-end across backend services, data pipelines, and AWS infrastructure
• Write production Python and SQL for ETL pipelines, backend services, data quality checks, and API integrations
• Build, modify, and maintain AWS infrastructure including Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, SQS, and CloudFormation
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot as a core part of daily workflow
• Write well-structured queries across relational databases and understand schema design and performance
• Communicate status, blockers, and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Write tests, follow coding standards, and leave code better than you found it
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and retrospectives

Requirements

• Python proficiency across scripting, backend services, and AWS Lambda
• Active daily use of AI-assisted coding tools with effective prompting and validation
• Strong SQL skills including complex joins, aggregations, window functions, and CTEs
• Hands-on AWS experience with services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, SQS, and CloudFormation
• Experience connecting applications to relational databases and debugging data issues
• Demonstrated reliability and proactive communication when commitments shift
• Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical executives and write clear tickets and PRs

Preferred Qualifications

• Snowflake experience including querying, schema design, or Snowpark
• TypeScript or Node.js experience
• Background in fintech, lending, payments, or regulated industries
• Familiarity with Nortridge Loan Software or similar loan management systems
• Infrastructure as Code experience with CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform
• Professional documentation skills for architecture docs, runbooks, and API references
• Experience working in small, fast-moving teams with fluid roles
