Software Engineer, Advanced

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
• Implement ETL processes to ingest, clean, and process large volumes of data from various sources
• Optimize data processing workflows to ensure high performance and efficiency
• Manage SQL/OLAP databases such as BigQuery or Hive
• Utilize Object Storage (Google Cloud Storage, S3, HDFS) and messaging services (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Provision and automate infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts to deliver robust data solutions
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high coding standards are met

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Proven experience with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with SQL/OLAP databases and Object Storage
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git
• Deep knowledge of GCP services including Cloud Functions, Cloud Build, and Cloud Networking
