Software Engineer 2 - Observability

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain large-scale observability platforms to provide deep visibility into distributed systems
• Build scalable telemetry pipelines using technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Jaeger, or Tempo
• Develop instrumentation libraries, SDKs, agents, and exporters for distributed services
• Optimize ingestion, storage, and query performance for high-volume telemetry data
• Partner with engineering and SRE teams to define and measure SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs
• Automate deployments and configuration of observability systems
• Implement observability frameworks covering metrics, logs, traces, profiling, and events

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in a Software Engineering role
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with cloud-native platforms, including Kubernetes, containers, and service mesh architectures
• Hands-on expertise with modern observability stacks (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog, or New Relic)
• Familiarity with distributed systems, telemetry data flows, and performance engineering
• Experience building automation and CI/CD pipelines

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
