Software Development Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers and business systems analysts
• Drive Agile practices including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Provide hands-on technical oversight, including code reviews and architectural guidance
• Manage resource allocation and team workload to meet business objectives
• Serve as the technical escalation point for mission-critical distribution and warehouse applications
• Partner with leadership to align engineering efforts with organizational goals

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role
• Advanced knowledge of Java (17+ preferred), Spring Framework, Hibernate, and microservices
• Extensive experience in Java application and API development, including testing and production support
• Proficiency with SQL, XML, JDBC, and SFTP
• Experience with database platforms such as DB2 and MySQL
• Hands-on experience or deep technical understanding of React and modern frontend workflows
• Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for working with large datasets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an AS/400 environment
• Experience with Power BI
• Background in modernization initiatives, such as migrating legacy systems or API development
