Software Development Manager, Payments

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5-7 engineers to design, build, and operate full-stack web applications processing millions of daily transactions
• Own end-to-end delivery including roadmap planning, execution, and operational excellence
• Coach and grow senior engineers, creating opportunities for career advancement and promotion
• Make hands-on architectural decisions regarding vendor integrations, system resilience, and data accuracy
• Partner cross-functionally with product, finance, compliance, and data science teams to shape technical strategy
• Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities to keep the team focused and energized

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading teams of 5 or more
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Proven expertise in web services, cloud infrastructure, and system design
• Experience operating consumer-facing web applications with high reliability requirements
• Strong track record of hiring, retaining, and growing engineering talent
• Proficiency using Agile methodologies to deliver software iteratively

Preferred Qualifications

• Background as a Senior or Staff Engineer designing and operating distributed systems in production
• Familiarity with payment systems, financial infrastructure, or e-commerce platforms
• Experience with Go, React, or AWS services
• Personal experience with Twitch as a viewer or creator
