Software Development Engineering in Test (ETL Testing)

Responsibilities

• Design robust test plans in collaboration with development and product management teams.
• Build and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for data pipelines using Python or Java.
• Verify source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and data integrity across enterprise data warehouses and lakes.
• Integrate continuous data quality checks into CI/CD pipelines to replace manual validation.
• Perform functional, integration, and API testing using tools like Cucumber-JVM, REST API, and SOAPUI.
• Conduct UI automation for web, iOS, and MacOS platforms using Playwright, Selenium, or Appium.
• Communicate quality metrics and testing status to stakeholders and drive issue resolution.
• Mentor junior team members on automation techniques and perform peer code reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Quality Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java for building automated data quality frameworks.
• Proven expertise in ETL testing, including data profiling and complex SQL query writing.
• Hands-on experience with Cassandra and validating data across RDBMS and NoSQL ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of API/Web Services testing (REST and SOAP) and batch processes.
• Experience with automation architecture, CI/CD integrations, and software build tools.
• Ability to translate complex Source-to-Target (S2T) mapping rules into precise validation scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Postman, or SOAPUI.
• Exposure to performance testing strategies and containerization tools like Kubernetes or Docker.
• Knowledge of using ML and AI to enhance automation and reduce regression cycles.
• Experience with log scanning to identify root causes of complex data anomalies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile environment with frequent context switching.
