About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and verification of safety-certified aerospace actuation applications in compliance with DO-178C/ED-12C standards.
- Manage software requirements, design documentation, and test plans in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Develop embedded software and firmware solutions (including bare-metal) for motion/motor control and power conversion.
- Oversee the development and implementation of software plans, standards, and infrastructure.
- Lead local or remote development teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Interface with internal process assurance teams and external certification personnel.
- Engage in customer discussions, technical briefings, and trade studies regarding project schedules and costs.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Proven experience with DO-178C / ED-12C software certification.
- Extensive experience in the development of actuators and motor controllers.
- Strong background in embedded software or firmware development (e.g., bare-metal).
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hardware certification standards such as DO-254 / ED-80.
- Familiarity with system-level and safety aspects including ARP4754 and ARP4761.
- Experience in vendor/supplier management and technical capability reviews.
