Software Development Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Build and operate mission-critical distributed systems that power global streaming services for Prime Video
• Lead the design and architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Drive technical excellence within the READI organization to ensure Prime Video remains secure, available, fast, and efficient
• Act as a technical leader and mentor to other engineers, fostering professional growth and high engineering standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture, including reliability and scaling
• Proven experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field
• Strong background in distributed systems and software architecture
