Software Development Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Align with key client initiatives and interface daily with Fortune 500 customers to understand strategic requirements
• Develop and evolve highly scalable and fault-tolerant distributed components
• Design and implement APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns for distributed computing problems
• Define technical requirements, data extraction, transformation, and automate production jobs
• Provide technical leadership and maintain hands-on coding standards

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Experience developing enterprise-scale applications, frameworks, and design patterns
• Proficiency in functional and object-oriented programming with Java or Python
• Hands-on knowledge of MapReduce, Hadoop, PySpark, HBase, and Elasticsearch
• Experience in Big Data domain development and support
• Experience with database modeling, development, data mining, and warehousing
• Proficiency in Unit, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineers and data scientists

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile methodology
• Proficiency with SQL and its variations across popular databases
• Experience working with large, complex datasets from diverse sources
