Software Development Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on research, prototyping, software design, and implementation for Amazon DocumentDB
• Solve complex technical problems in database systems including MVCC, transactions, and query optimization
• Work on distributed systems, telemetry, and API/UI design
• Interact with customers and product managers to define product improvements
• Mentor other engineers and drive technical excellence

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture
• 1+ years of experience designing large-scale, multi-threaded, or distributed software applications
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• Experience with Object Oriented Design
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle
• Experience with coding standards, code reviews, and build processes
