Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend and customer-facing systems for Amazon Simple Email Service (SES)
• Design and architect reliable, scalable, and highly available solutions to meet global customer needs
• Translate strategic business requirements into technical features and projects
• Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall direction of the service
• Collaborate with other engineers to solve complex technical challenges and mentor colleagues
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system fault tolerance and resolve root causes

Requirements

• Professional software development experience (non-internship)
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Proficiency in at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
