Neo is Canada's fastest-growing company, building an alternative to traditional financial software. The platform is built entirely in-house with over 150 services in production, processing tens of millions of transactions every month.

Responsibilities

• Build and own services and clients end to end, including API and schema design and production delivery
• Serve as code owner for repositories, setting standards for quality and architecture
• Write thorough automated tests as a core part of the development process
• Conduct high-quality code reviews focusing on performance, security, and edge cases
• Own services in production by building observability, alerting, and dashboards
• Anticipate and advocate for work related to reliability, scalability, and security
• Drive core tooling improvements and architect shared libraries
• Mentor other engineers through pairing and code reviews

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping production systems at scale
• Strong understanding of architecture and the ability to defend technical decisions
• Commitment to writing tests as part of the building process
• Proactive approach to identifying and fixing production issues and missing requirements
• Ability to contribute to team growth through documentation and mentorship
• Proficiency with modern tech stacks and AI tooling
• Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work permit

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GraphQL, Mongo, Node.js, TypeScript, React, React Native, and AWS
