Software Developer - Cloud/AI/Big Data Platform Team (Automation Focus)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation and self-service solutions for a Kubernetes-based cloud, AI, and big data platform.
• Create and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure platform stability and performance.
• Build effective abstractions and templates to hide the complexity of distributed systems from end users.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to improve system reliability and uptime.
• Develop and implement network and platform security concepts.
• Expand and replicate the platform across multiple environments (dev, test, prod) in a consistent and repeatable way.
• Work closely with data engineers and data scientists to translate their needs into platform abstractions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Software Developer with a focus on automation, microservices, and backends.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their automation tools.
• Strong background in Linux system administration and scripting.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of big data processing frameworks, particularly Apache Spark.
• Fluent English skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI/ML technologies and big data platforms.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, or Kafka.
• Certifications in Kubernetes (CKAD, CKA) or major cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and developer enablement.
• Proficiency in German.
