Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Implement features and fixes in backend services, writing secure, reliable, and maintainable code with unit tests
• Learn to build and optimize microservices and event-driven components for the Consumption platform
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and maintain high code quality
• Follow Agile practices including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine code issues and assist with production deployments
• Use Agentic AI-assisted programming tools to increase productivity and code quality
• Contribute to team knowledge through documentation and testing

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong foundation in CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, networking, and distributed systems
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Go
• Familiarity with version control (Git), testing basics, and RESTful or event-driven service patterns
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, research, or significant project experience in backend development or cloud services
• Exposure to AWS or similar cloud platforms (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, SQS, DynamoDB)
• Experience with microservices, streaming/real-time processing, or containerization (Docker)
• Knowledge of CI/CD, observability (metrics/logging), and security best practices
• Interest in cost-aware design, performance, and reliability engineering
