Software Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end data flows from raw event ingestion through durable storage and modeled datasets
• Build reliable, incremental pipelines supporting deduplication, late-arriving data, and watermarking
• Model context and relationships across machines, sensors, and factories to support AI-driven experiences
• Build clean, maintainable Python services with strong separation of concerns
• Design streaming-first architectures using lakehouse and messaging technologies like Kafka or Pub/Sub
• Drive engineering quality through automated testing, observability, and data-focused validation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of professional software development experience in backend platforms or distributed systems
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data modeling
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data technologies like Databricks, Delta Lake, or Spark
• Experience with streaming or messaging systems such as Kafka or Pub/Sub
• Strong operational skills including observability, monitoring, and production incident response

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or IoT environments
• Exposure to Digital Twin architectures and contextual data models
• Experience with context graphs or knowledge graphs
• Experience supporting AI/LLM-powered products, including RAG systems or agents
