Software Asset Management Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process software requests through defined lifecycle management processes to ensure timely delivery and positive user experience.
• Maintain a single source of truth for all software assets, capturing entitlements, proof of purchase, and license keys.
• Drive license optimization initiatives and collaborate with engineering teams to optimize software usage.
• Respond to stakeholder escalations and licensing queries.
• Support audit and compliance activities by providing necessary reporting and documentation.
• Maintain a software renewals calendar and provide inputs for financial and budgetary processes.
• Analyze operational metrics to identify gaps and suggest improvements to ITSM practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an ITIL-aligned operational role, specifically in Software Asset Management or similar.
• Strong understanding of the ITIL framework and ability to apply its principles.
• Solid experience working with ServiceNow.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Proven ability to work toward and exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL qualification.
• Experience working with SCCM/Intune teams and software vendors.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and manage changing priorities.
