Software Architect

Responsibilities

• Define the platform's overall design, reference architecture, and supporting demonstrators
• Lead architectural decision-making and set technical direction across the full stack
• Own software solutions end-to-end, from initial design through deployment and long-term stewardship
• Collaborate within high-impact teams to implement high-quality software while maintaining architectural integrity
• Establish best practices and foundational architecture for large-scale, deployed systems
• Adopt and explore emerging AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery and quality

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or an equivalent field
• 5 years of applicable experience in software architecture or design
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale, production-ready systems
• Strong expertise in Cloud and Kubernetes, including Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, or Java
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and GitOps workflows
• Experience with messaging or event-streaming platforms such as Kafka

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance
• Experience supporting government or Department of Defense (DoD) systems
• Experience with MILSATCOM systems (e.g., AEHF, EPS, WGS)
• Experience maintaining software requirements and establishing traceability to capabilities
• Professional certifications such as INCOSE CSEP/ESEP
