Software Architect

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal author and advocate for software architecture and design specifications
• Define application frameworks and standard development paths to limit complexity
• Subdivide complex applications into manageable components and manage dependencies
• Review system design assets to ensure scalability, reliability, and security
• Prepare comprehensive design specifications and migration plans
• Provide technical guidance to the Engineering and Data Warehouse teams
• Assess emerging technologies for integration into the master application framework

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field (M.S. preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in senior design or architect roles
• 10+ years of experience with Unix internals, Java or .NET, XML/JSON, and RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, or SQL Server)
• 10+ years of hands-on database programming experience
• 5+ years of experience with web services, preferably RESTful designs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Scala or Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and automated configuration management
• Experience with identity frameworks such as OAuth, SAML, or OpenID
• Experience with large-scale data management using Hadoop or Cassandra
